Frequently Asked Questions

Akindare, can you also work on bigger projects?

Absolutely. I have a strong network of creative professionals whose quality of work I trust greatly. I am never more than two people removed from the talent needed to deliver on a project for which I am providing a service. If it is beyond my scope/network, I will be upfront about this.

Akindare, how much do you charge?

Uhmm, that’s like asking how much is a house? It depends on the type, size, location and what you can afford, right? Same with creative projects: it depends on the type of project, scope and requirements. That said, I do have a base hourly rate of £52 as a minimum for most things involving writing (lowest end of the range) and £200/hour for consulting on strategy projects (highest end of the range). Most things fall in between those two numbers.

Akindare, how long does your creative process take?

This also depends on the project, its scope and requirements. But I have thought about it carefully and tried to work out a rough framework:

  • Shorter writing projects: 1-2 days.

  • Longer writing projects: 1-2 weeks (but there are long-form pieces that could also take months).

  • Strategy projects are completely project dependent.

  • Podcast production: Most things in the funnel can be done in a day or two but end-to-end production will depend on the specifics of the project.

  • Video projects are length and project-dependent. The longer the final product is meant to be, the more time everything takes - from scripting to shooting. For social media-style videos, one week is a reasonable timeframe to keep in mind.

Akindare, how do I become as fabulous as you are?

Spell it with me: T-R-A-U-M-A.

Akindare, why don’t you have a lot of followers on social media?

You should see my bank account.

Akindare, are you a creative or a strategist?

Both. I started my career as a writer, editor and journalist so text and copy have always been my base. I also started my career in a digital media house so creative strategy and content marketing were complimentary skills required for the job. The last seven years of my career have been spent expanding on, and applying those base writing and strategy skills either as a content strategist or manager, or as a communications strategist or manager. Usually, those roles had overlap between the strategist and manager functions.

Akindare, what sort of narcissist names their studio after themselves?

Long story. Buy me lip balm and I’ll tell you.
